Narragansett Man Accused of Indecent Exposure Receives Amended Charge
Criminal Charges:
Man charged in the Rhode Island District Court (4th Division), Narragansett, Washington County for:
- Indecent Exposure, in violation of R.I.G.L. § 11-45-2
Case Overview:
Narragansett Police responded to a local area near the beach for allegations of a man masturbating and exposing himself while seated in his vehicle. The vehicle departed before police arrived on scene, but witnesses were able to provide officers with its license plate number. Police ran a check of the license plate and identified the vehicle owner. Police asked the man to self-surrender to the police station for a statement, whereby he confessed to his actions. In response, the man was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure in Rhode Island District Court (4th Division). He hired Rhode Island Criminal Defense Lawyer, John L. Calcagni III, to defend him in this matter.
Case Result: Amended and One-Year Filing.
During initial conversations with the prosecutor, Attorney Calcagni argued for an amendment of the charge based upon the man’s cooperation and lack of criminal history. After several conferences, the prosecutor agreed and amended the charge to Disorderly Conduct. Attorney Calcagni then successfully persuaded the prosecutor to file the case for one year. Provided the man is not charged with a new offense during this time, the case will be dismissed and eligible for expungement at the end of the filing term.
