Cocaine Trafficking
A man from Allston, MA was charged with Cocaine Trafficking in Chelsea District Court. The charge followed a long-term investigation by a task force comprised of local, state and federal law enforcement authorities. Police executed a series of search warrants at multiple locations at the culmination of the investigation. Inside one of the apartments, they discovered the suspected drug trafficker with others who actually resided at the location.
They also discovered a Federal Express package addressed to one of the apartment’s occupants, though believed to be intended for the alleged drug trafficker, which contained a quantity of suspected narcotics. Based on this discovery, police arrested the man and charged him with trafficking cocaine in excess of 200 grams, which under Massachusetts law carries a mandatory minimum jail sentence of 12 years. After attending several pretrial conferences and filing some motions, Drug Trafficking Attorney Calcagni successfully persuaded prosecutors to dismiss this case and its serious felony drug trafficking charge against his client for lack of prosecution.
