Domestic Simple Assault: Dismissed
North Providence Police charged a woman with domestic simple assault after a report from her husband that she punched him in the face. The two had a verbal altercation after the man blamed his wife for knocking over his motorcycle. At the time, their relationship was in a downward spiral and the woman wanted out. She packed her belongings and planned to leave the house. As they continued to argue, the husband accused the wife of striking him in the face and causing him to suffer a blackeye.
When he called police, she allegedly tried to prevent him from doing so. The woman retained Rhode Island Simple Assault Defense Lawyers, John L. Calcagni III and John R. Grasso, to defend her against this charge in Rhode Island District Court. After attending several pretrial conferences, the lawyers successfully advocated for a dismissal of this case and its domestic violence charge against their client.
