Arson sentence in Rhode Island
In Rhode Island, the punishment for arson is dependent on the severity of the offense.
The law recognizes seven (7) degrees of arson with first (1st) degree being the most severe.
The sentence to be determined looks at the severity; the property set on or attempted to be set on fire; and casualties.
Depending on those factors, one can receive up to life in prison and/or a fine up to $25,000.
